DRY MARTINI

4 parts gin or vodka 1 part dry vermouth

Stir with cracked ice. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Add green olive or twist of lemon peel.

GIBSON

Same as above except pearl onion used instead of olive.

GIMLET

4 parts gin or vodka 1 part sweetened lime juice

Shake ingredients well with cracked ice. Strain into a prechilled cocktail glass.

TOM COLLINS

Juice of 1 lemon 1 tspn. sugar 1 1/2 jigger gin club soda

Use a tall glass. Dissolve sugar in juice and add ice. Pour in gin. Fill with cold sparkling water and stir.

ROB ROY

1/2 jigger sweet vermouth 1 jigger scotch dash bitters

Stir with cracked ice. Strain into cocktail glass. Add twist of lemon peel. This drink is sometimes called the "Scotch Manhattan."

WHISKEY SOUR

1/2 jigger lemon juice 1 tspn. sugar 1 jigger bourbon or rye

Shake ingredients well with cracked ice. Strain into cocktail glass. Place an orange slice on the rim and add a maraschino cherry.

HOT TODDY

1 lump of sugar 2 cloves 1 jigger whiskey

Stir in5 oz. glass with hot water. Decorate with twist of lemon.

COLD TODDY

1/4 tspn. sugar 1 oz water 2 oz scotch or bourbon

Stir sugar with water in an old-fashioned glass. Add ice cubes, and pour in liquor. Serve with a twist of lemon.

MANHATTAN

1/4 Italian (sweet) vermouth 3/4 bourbon or rye dash bitters

Stir with cracked ice, strain into cocktail glass. Serve with maraschino cherry.

WARD EIGHT

1/2 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz orange juice 2 oz rye 4 dashes grenadine

Shake well with cracked ice. Pour into glass without straining. Serve with orange slice.

RUM SWIZZLE

Juice 1/2 lime 1 tspn sugar 2 1/2 oz light rum 2 dashes bitters

Mix in glass pitcher with lots of crushed ice. Stir vigorously until mixture foams. Serve in a double old-fashioned glass.

STINGER

1 jigger brandy 1/2 jigger white creme de menthe

Shake with cracked ice. Strain into glass.

GRASSHOPPER

3/4 oz. cream 1 oz. white creme de cacao 1 oz. creme de menthe

Shake well or blend with cracked ice and strain.

BLUE BLAZER

1/2 white creme de menthe 1/2 Southern Comfort

Pour creme de menthe in cordial glass, float Southern Comfort on top and ignite. When flame dies, let glass cool and serve. Sure beats after dinner mints!
